BENEFITS
IMMUNE HEALTH
Research indicates that people who get less sleep (six or less hours a night) have higher blood levels of inflammatory proteins than those who get more sleep. Inflammation is a response to injury or infection, and it may be linked to heart disease, stroke, diabetes, arthritis, and premature aging.

MEMORY
An increase of 20.6% in long-term memory was found when measuring the number correct in a paired-associate test following sleep, compared to the group which was tested at the same time interval, but without sleep after taking the paired-associate test. During sleep, the brain processes and organizes all new information obtained during the day.

GPA
Studies show that undergraduate students have a GPA that is 0.28 to 0.52 points higher than those who did not have a consistent sleep schedule or did not get enough sleep.

WORK
Sleep and short breaks can help restore energy and self-regulatory resources in the body. In turn, these enable employees to experience an engaging work atmosphere.

PHYSIOLOGY
During sleep, the body renews tissues, forms new red blood cells, and releases growth hormones.

WEIGHT LOSS
Researchers at the University of Chicago found that dieters who were well rested lost more fat than those who were sleep deprived. The sleep deprived subjects lost more muscle mass.
